This weekend come and support the participants of the Umineneko Marathon

On the Sunday 18th of May, a semi marathon will be held. It is a race of 21km starting near the morning market of Hachinohe that will follow the coast until Shirahama beach and back. There are also shorter events with a 10, 5, and 3km race. This will be the 44th umnineko marathon held in Hachinohe.

This race will stop the circulation, making the umineko bus inactive for the day and stop any car from accessing that road until 1:30pm. Furthermore, especially for the event, the morning market will not be open the day of the marathon (５月18日).

 

 

The inscriptions have already finished so if you have not registered yet, you will not be able to participate. However, that does not stop you from supporting the runners during their race. The opening ceremony starts at 8:10am and the closing ceremony will be at 12:35 so make sure to support them then. Whether you bring a motivational poster or your voice, it is guaranteed to bring some joy and motivation for the athletes. Creating signs will be a fun activity to do before the event whether it is alone or with kids. It is the perfect time to let your imagination got rampant.

Also, a little rain will not stop the event so it shouldn’t stop you either.

I recommend coming a bit early to secure a good viewing spot with a nice view on the Ocean or other famous spots along that coast.

「種差・鮫・階上の自然を守りながらいただく風土食」をテーマに、種差・階上エリアの雑穀や海藻などを利用した、地域特有の風土食をご紹介します。

【開催期間】令和7年4月1日（火）～6月30日（月）

【場　　所】種差海岸インフォメーションセンター　館内4つの壁

ジャンルは文学、アート、写真など。
応募作品はR7年10月～12月開催の企画展へ展示。

※ハーバリウム・・・瓶に植物などをレイアウトし、専用のオイルを入れたもの。

本プログラムでは植物ではなく、種差の貝殻などを使用して、種差の海を表現します♪
